Kunst-Griff: Tools for bow making

The integrated pencil of the tiller tool marks the sections on the limbs of the bow that are bending less than others and thus need further tillering. With the brass screw the pencil can be adjusted accurately to a tenth of a millimetre, making it possible to identify very small inconsistencies in the tiller.

The spokeshave allows an accurate removal of fine shavings, precisely and properly, even with irregular grain direction. Thus it is ideal for the fine tillering of wooden bows and the tapering of wooden arrow shafts. The body of the spokeshave is made of Wenge wood, the lock nuts, the threads and the sole are made of brass. The plane blade is positioned at an angle of about 90° against the workpiece. The cutting edge has a burr that allows the removal of very thin shavings.

The scraper plane is designed for the tillering of wooden bows. Because of its flat design the scraper plan reaches up to the tips when you are working on the braced bow.

Thanks to its big mouth the marked sections are easily visible and it is possible to position the scraper plane accurately.

The body of the scraper plane is made of Wenge wood, the lock nuts, the threads and the sole are made of brass. The plane is equipped with a scraper blade.
